What will you think if you heard about Holland? Maybe the first few things that cross your mind will be “TULIPS” and “WINDMILLS”. Keukenhof is a flower garden that will offer you both. A visit to this park is a MUST, if you visit the Netherlands during spring time.
Keukenhof, which means “Kitchen Garden” in Dutch is a very famous garden in the Netherlands, and even the world. More than 7 million flower bulbs are planted every year, which covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres). The gardens offer a fantastic collection of tulips, orchids, lavenders, roses, hyacinths, daffodils, carnations, irises, lilies, and many other flowers.
This park is only open for 8 weeks every year from mid March to mid May. The best time to visit the park is on April where the flowers blossom at their peak.
I visited this park on 2nd last day before it’s closure, on 16 May 2015. To be frank, I didn’t expect the park to be beautiful, as it was near to its closure date, where the flowers were about to wither. To my surprise, the park was still amazing! I wonder how astonishing it would be had I gone there on April, where the flowers are at their peak blossom ❤
If I have the chance, I will visit the park again on April next year. It is a really beautiful park. It is also a park where people can relax and enjoy the beauty of flowers 😉 If you plan to visit the park next year, Keukenhof will be open again from 24 March to 16 May 2016.
